Incomplete Roman Colchester Derivative hinged brooch dating to the period c. AD 50 - 200. C.f. Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 4, CD H 5.f . The cylindrical wings are heavily damaged, the tip and front of each wing is missing. A central slot divides the wings and would have allowed the missing pin to swivel on the axis bar.
