An incomplete copper-alloy Iron Age to Roman brooch of the Colchester Type, dating to AD 25-60. Even though the head of the brooch is heavily encrusted and covered by iron corrosion product, one of the wings is still visible and the tip of the forward facing hook is distinguishable on the top of the upper bow. The bow is oval in cross-section and tapers towards a pointed end. The front face of the bow has a longitudinal median shallow flute, which is flanked by two parallel narrow raised lines. The back face od the foot bears traces of the catch plate. The surfaces are very worn.
