A fragment of a copper-alloy Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) cruciform brooch with horse-head terminal, dating to AD 500-550. It is the upper part of the foot of the brooch and consists of a flat panel with the edges broken and a fragment of one of the lappets; its front face is decorated with two incised ring-and-dot motifs, which are aligned along the longitudinal median axis. Below the panel there is a collar formed by two transverse ridges; the fragment breaks just below the brow of the animal head, which has a longitudinal groove in the centre. Only one eye survives. The back face of the foot bears an incomplete catch-plate. The surfaces are abraded and the breaks are very worn.

It belongs to Martin's group 3 (2015, p. 40). Cf Penn-Brugmann (2007, p. 72, figs. 5.22-5.23).
