A worn and incomplete Early-Medieval silver sceat of Primary Phase Series BX (Type 26), Ambramson (2012) No.15.10. Possibly minted somewhere in the Thames Estuary area. c.680-5. Diademed Bust Right with garbled inscription obverse type, and bird on cross patte on steps breaking beaded circle reverse type.

Measurements: Thickness 1.94mm, Diameter: 13.07mm, and Weight: 0.97g.

Discussion: EMC shows 15 specimens loosely north and south of the Thames Estuary. Die Marks, including pellets, annuletts and crosses, appear on obverse and reverse. These privy marks have not been recognised here as different varieties.
