A complete medieval copper alloy folding clasp, dating from c. 1350-1400. The clasp has a rectangular shaped frame, near the outer edge the frame is slightly raised either side, and has a sub circular notch in. The outer edge has moulded decoration, and is wider than the frame. The first part is sub triangular, and decorated with incised straight lines running along the clasp. This is bordered by two diagonal grooves. The next part of the outer frame has a circular perforation along each edge, with a diagonal groove next to both. Inbetween the grooves there is a raised lip. The edge of the outer frame is rounded, with a triangular projections at both edges, above the circular perforations. The frame is recessed at the opposite end, probably for holding the now missing plate. The reverse of the clasp frame is concave, and undecorated. It measures 26.7mm in length, 15.6mm in width, and weighs 3.37g.

A similar clasp can be seen in Egan and Pritchard 1991, page 119, number 568.
