Post Medieval copper alloy mount, probably related to hooked mounts of similar form. The mount has a circular mid-section, domed with a convex front and concave back. From the domed section at one end projects a flat lobed terminal flanked by smaller lobes. At the other is a flat projecting terminal which starts with a circle with an attachment hole thorugh the centre and a small projecting lobed terminal. There are traces of a white metal coating on the front. The mount now measures 29.4 mm long, 12.5 mm wide, 4.8 mm thick and weighs 3.55 g.

This mount is very similar in form to a group of hooked fittings, e.g.Read (2008) no. 813, which he dates to the 17th century, SOM-679CE6 and SOM-1E73C0 but this example has no evidence of a missing hook. It is likely to be contemporary and possibly ensuite.
