A worn silver halfgroat of Elizabeth I, AD 1558-1603. (6th issue, AD 1582-1600). The mintmark is a crescent (AD 1587-89). Obverse shows a crowned bust left within an inner beaded circle (diameter 11.6mm). The obverse legend is within a border between the edge of the flan and inner circle and reads E.D.G [ROSA]. SI[NE].SPINA. Reverse shows a shield containing royal arms with a long cross fourchee. This is also within an inner circle. Reverse legend reads CIVI/[TAS] LON/DON. Die axis is 3 o'clock.
