An iron unidentified object of uncertain date, AD 43 - 1950. It is probably made of wrought iron as it has the appearance of grain, like wood does. It is a bar which is circular in section at one end, but which quickly flattens out to a thinner rectangular cross-section. At the other end, one side curves inwards producing a knife like shape with a flat back and a pointed tip. This object is not identified as a knife however, because the curved edge is as uniformally thick (about 3.5mm) as the straight back, so there is no cutting edge, though the whole object does taper towards the curved end. Both ends are incomplete. The possible tool is 111.8mm long, 12.6mm wide and 8.1mm thick at the possible tang end with a circular section. 29.1g. The metal is rusty but has been lightly cleaned and has a dark grey and orange colour.
