An incomplete copper-alloy probably Medieval buckle, dating to AD 1200-1500. It is the pin of the buckle. The shaft has a sub-rectangular shape in plan and sub-rectangular cross-section; it tapers towards the slighlty rounded tip. The shaft is curved at its centre and close to the tip, suggesting the use of the object. At the other end has a broken possibly oval loop; the loop frame has a sub-trapezoidal cross-section and is thicker than the shaft. The latter is heavily abraded and bears a deep longitudinal groove on one edge, probably made during the casting process.
