Coated copper-alloy belt-style finger ring of post-medieval to modern date (c. 1600 - 1800 AD). The finger ring has a wide, flat hoop which is rectangular in section, and a moulded bezel in the shape of a D-shaped buckle and pin. The shoulders of the finger ring are decorated with a moulded, floriate motif, now only faintly visible. The object displays an unidentified red coating which is now largely obscured by a black patina possibly linked to the heavy coating of oil that was applied by the finder after the object was lifted from the ground. The finger ring is 22.25mm in diameter, 3.44mm at maximum thickness and weighs 3.22g.
There are many similar examples of this style of finger ring recorded on the database, although the red coating of this example is unusual. Parallels include: YORYM-775A7D, NLM-20982S and BERK-1EB4B0.
