A fragment of a medieval ceramic vessel, 24mm in length, 53mm wide and 11mm thick and with a weight of 57.12grams.
The fragment consist of an intacg 'bung hole' form a pitcher or jug with a slight amount of body attached to it. The hole is 20mm in diameter and is framed by a rectangular cross sectioned rim which projects c.12 mm from the body.
The fabric is highly fired and has quarts inclusions. The outer surface is a grey colour and the core is a pale orange. Probably Medieval in date.
