A complete copper-alloy probable sword belt mount of Post-Medieval date c.AD 1600 - 1700. The object has a D-shaped section and is formed of a rectangular plate with an integral curved hook projecting from the lower end. Two integral rivets project from the reverse of the upper plate.
The metal has a delaminated brown/green patina and is worn. The object is 43.2mm long, 9.5mm wide, 4.5mm thick and weighs 11g.
A similar example is illustrated in Read (2008) p.225, no.807 and is dated to the 17th century.
