In the centre of the outer edges of each loop is a triangular projection, this is decorated with a moulded flower. The frame of the buckle is semi circular in cross section and has a bevelled inner edge. The pin bar is sub-triangular in cross section, and has a knop at each end of the bar. There is red vrown iron staining on part of the pin bar. The buckle has a mid green patina. The buckle measures 40.6mm in length and 29.3mm in width. The buckle weighs 7.84g.
The buckle is similar to one shown in Whitehead 1996, 66, 410, which is dated to c. 1550-1650.
