A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy two-part toggle clasp, dating to AD 1500 to 1700. The plate of the clasp is oval in shape and convex in section. It has a transverse ridge collar at the top dividing the main body from a small convex circular section with a smaller terminal knop. One corroded iron rivet remains through the circular section, a second iron rivet is near the base of the oval plate. At the base of the main body, at the juncture of the plate and disc-toggle are two transverse ridges. The disc-toggle is flat and measures 11.4 mm in diameter.

The toggle clasp is concave on the back and flat on the rest. It measures 49.5 mm in length, 14.5 mm in width, 5.3 mm in thickness and weighs 8.74g.

A similar example is Read (2008, 210) no. 763, categorized as Early Post Medieval toggle clasp, Type 7. Other examples in this database are YORYM-963318 and SUR-AF17F2.
