An incomplete and flattened Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy domed ('beehive') closed thimble (c. AD 1400-1550). This thimble would have been circular in plan and the thick walls taper inwards from the base towards the crown. There is a plain rim and no manufacturing marks. The outer face has a line of evenly spaced sub-circular pits which spiral in a clockwise direction from the base to the top. The crown has concentric rings of similar pits.
