An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a bow brooch of Hod Hill type, dating c. AD 43-75. Only half the midsection of the object, lower bow and foot survive, the res tof the brooch missing in old damage. The midpoint of the brooch consists a flattened rectangular panel decorated with at least five vertical moulded ribs, its sides terminating in a circular knop. Below this, the lower bow extends-being an elongated rectangle in plan with seven protruding transverse ribs visible on its upper surface before it terminates in a circular knop. On the rear face of the lower bow, the remains of the triangular catchplate extend. Preserved in fair condition with an even greenish patina, it survives to a length of 29.21mm, 15.41mm wide at the midsection, and 6.98mm thick where the catchplate projects from its reverse face. It weighs 1.97g.

A similar brooch is published by Mackreth (2011) see p. 96, pl. 93, no. 9297.
