An incomplete late Medieval to Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle dating to the period 1350-1650
Description: The loops are oval and beveled, the reverse is flat. Both loops and the strap-bar are complete and not worn. The pin for the buckle is entirely missing. The entire buckle is patianted mid green-turquoise and remains in good condition.
Measurements: 30.16mm long, 26.53mm wide, 2.5mm thick and 5.09g in weight.
Discussion: This form of buckle is a common find reported to the PAS and Whitehead (2003) illustrates a vast array of similar buckles (page 54, No.307), which he dates to c.1350-1650 AD.
