A fragment of copper alloy sectional bracelet dating to c. 400 BC - AD 43. An almost complete short section, probably from a two-part bracelet. The piece is parallel sided and curving, C-shaped in cross section (convex on the upper face). The ends are straight with a rectangular pierced lug projecting on the vertical axis from the centre of one edge and an oval cross-sectioned pointed lug projecting from the centre of the opposite end. The lug has a large circular aperture and would have attached to an axis point on the missing part of the bracelet in order to form a hinged opening. The projection at the opposite end would have fastened the section in place when closed. The upper face of the piece is decorated with a series of deep, transverse rounded ridges with deep grooves between.
