An almost complete and worn post-Medieval copper-alloy token farthing issued by Elizabeth Maynard, an apothecary of Newport, Isle of Wight, c. 1664 (Champion u. d. 51, ref. 113).

Reverse: [PORT ILE OF WITE]; E M in field.

Diameter: 15.0mm. Weight: 0.63g. DA=12:12.

Elizabeth Maynard, nee Clarke, was Anthony's widow and probably continued to trade as an apothecary, until her son, Anthony, completed his training and took over the business.
