A copper alloy Post Medieval Buckle frame dating from about AD 1550 - 1650. It is a double looped frame with oval to D shaped loops which are decorated with very worn cast vine-scroll ornament. There are traces of a black coating, perhaps linseed oil, paint or enamel. The buckle has a narrowed central bar and the pin is missing. The loops angle upwards from the bar slightly. Compare Whitehead (2003), no.425. The metal has a green patina. The buckle is 30.3mm long, 19.1mm wide and 4.5mm thick. 4.3g.
