A complete cast copper-alloy button dating to the Post-Medieval period (the seventeenth century). The button is circular in plan and hemispherical in cross-section. The upper surface of the head is decorated with an elaborate linear design that is possibly foliate in nature. The concave underside of the head is plain with an attachment loop protruding from the centre. The loop is sub-rectangular in plan and section and has the remains of a circular-section iron pin through its circular perforation. The button measures 26mm in diameter and is 8mm in height. The button weighs 6.01 grams.
