A complete cast copper-alloy swivel, probably dating to the Medieval period. The swivel possesses two 'D-shaped' frames which are set back-to-back and joined at the centre. From the back of one frame there extends an integral arm at a right angle that is circular in cross-section. This arm extends through a corresponding perforation in the other frame. The end of the arm is flattened to secure it in place and create a loose rotary connection. The surfaces of the swivel are undecorated. The swivel measures 22mm in length, 15mm in width and 6mm thick. It weighs 3.48 grams.
