A complete flint Awl of Mesolithic to Neolithic date (9,000-2,100 BC). The object is sub-rectangular in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains three predominant negative scars and corresponding arrises. The proximal end has been blunted while the distal end tapers to a pointed spur. The left hand edge has some semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly concave.
The flint is orange/brown in colour with cream inclusions. There is no retained cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
