A complete post medieval copper alloy crotal bell, dating from 1500-1700. The bell consists of two hemispheres divided by a horizontal circumferential joining rib, which is raised. The two sound holes are placed on each side of the integral sub rectangular suspension loop with a D shaped perforation, which is in the centre of the upper hemisphere. One side of the suspension loop is slightly worn, possibly from attachment. The top is slightly diagonal.
On the lower hemisphere there are two sound holes either side, close to the joining rib. These are joined together by a slot. The bell is very worn, but on one side of the slot there are incised lines radiating out towards the joining rib. The copper alloy pea is inside the bell.
The bell has a light green patina and measures 40.6mm in height, 30.4mm in diameter, and weighs 28.47g.
