An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval three piece strap end, dating to AD 1270-1450. The only surviving part is one of the sheet plate. It has a sub-rectanguilar shape in plan, which tapers towards the rounded end. The attachment end is damaged and only a short (3.20mm long) longitudinal triangular groove survives close to the break of the front face. The back face has residues of soldering.
Cf Egan-Pritchard (1991, p.144, fig. 94, nos. 671passim).
