Modern medallion: A copper alloy medallion in the form of a Maltese Cross with a small pierced suspension lobe projecting from the upper face. The upper loop is broken, but not recently.
Obverse: Crowned bust of king facing right. On cross arms, BORN NOVR 9TH 1841 / ACCESSION JANY 22ND 1901 / CORONATION JUNE 26TH 1902 / KING EDWARD VII.
Reverse: Timber-framed market hall / town hall Ledbury . TO COMMEMORATE / THE CORONATION / KING EDWARD VII / LEDBURY JUNE 26TH 1902.
The medallion measures: 34.89mm length, 33.22mm width is 1.86mm thick and weighs 5.91 grams
The medallion is commemorating the Coronation of King Edward VII produced in Ledbury - Herefordshire. It gives the coronation date as 26th June, but, due to the king's illness, it was postponed and took place on 9th August 1902.
The medallion was originally gilded but there are no traces visible now.
