A Medieval to Post-Medieval copper alloy double looped buckle, probably dating to c. AD 1350-1650. The frame comprises of two symmetrical oval loops, separated by a central bar. The bar is sub-rectangular in cross section and both loops are internally bevelled. Traces of a white metal coating survive on the external surface.
Dimensions: length 25.1mm; width 18.5mm; thickness 3.6mm; weight 3.08g.
The lack of any decoration makes it difficult to suggest anything more than a very general date range, a number of double looped buckles are published by Whitehead (2003), which he dates to AD 1350-1650.
