Terminal end fragment of a cast late Saxon Anglo Scandinavian strap end; probably Thomas Class E. Only the last 17mm is extant the upper attachment end being missing from old breaks. One face of the fragment is quartered with scrolls in each quadrant, the lower two of which are centrally pierced. The reverse face is flat and undecorated. Circa AD 850-1000.
