An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative, double-lugged, Harlow brooch dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43-100). The head consists of two C-sectioned wings, with a double lug on the reverse. The lower lug retains the remains of the spring, while the upper lug retains the chord. The rest of the spring and the pin are now missing. The bow is semi-circular in cross section and it bears, on its front, three longitudinal grooves. The bow tapers towards a worn break. The brooch has a dark green patina.
