Lead unidentified object fragment. One end of a cast rectangular box with a hole of diameter 4.3mm drilled through its base; it appears that a diminutive gutter runs towards this hole, so its provision may have been an original feature of the object. Fine casually executed cuts appear across the upstanding edges of the box, and there is a small dimple in its upper surface at its surviving end. The object is distorted towards the cut or broken end, probably by the episode which truncated it. Patinated. The casual finishing might suggest this to be a toy or miniature object, though if a model it remains uncertain what was represented. Suggested date: Unknown, Roman to Post-Medieval, 43-1800.

Length: 30.3mm, Width: 18.5mm, Thickness: 13.4mm, Weight: 38.63gms
