An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle with an integral place dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. The pin and plate are missing, with only the frame intact. It is 'D' shaped in plan, with a recessed pin rest on the front edge of the frame and an offset strap bar with pin constriction on the opposing side, directly in front of where the original integral plate would have been sited. Preserved in fair condition with an even greyish green patina, it measures 22.12mm long, 29.08mm wide at its widest point, and 3.23mm thick at the midpoint of the frame. It weighs 4.25g.
A similar buckle is published by Egan (2007) see p. 103, no. 772.
