Copper alloy buckle fragment. Cast sub-rectangular buckle frame with rounded corners, ends which are slightly expanded within the loop of the frame, and with a housing for a separate steel spindle [lost]. The marked curvature observed in profile may suggest a use as a shoe buckle. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1790.
