Medieval (1450 to 1550) thimble or sewing ring: A copper alloy thimble or sewing ring which is composed of a single shell. The exterior has a plain rim along the lower and upper edge with rows of rectangular indentations. The interior is undecorated.

The surface of the thimble has an abraded matte light green-brown patina.

The thimble measures 24.82mm long and 11.27mm wide. It weighs 3.72g.

Holmes (1988) in Figure 4 illustrates a similar shaped and decorated thimble which he dates to the mid-15th to mid-16th century.
