Copper alloy ring with steel fittings. Cast round section animal nose ring, in two parts with rebated and overlapping ends in the manner of a scarf joint, with a decayed steel pivot at one end and a drilled hole and steel fastening bolt at the other end, the latter passing into a drilled hole. These rings would be used to lead livestock, and might also be used to discourage a pig from rooting. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1850-1950
