Lead alloy and copper alloy medallion. Milled commemorative medallion celebrating the 1887 Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria (1837-1901), a less-commemorated event than the Diamond Jubilee if the recovery of associated memorabilia is a guide.

Obverse description: Bust left, probably veiled; unusually, not derived from a coin obverse.

Obverse inscription: VICTORIA [---]LEE

Reverse description: Text over 4 lines with garniture below: BORN 1819 / CROWNED 1838 / MARRIED 1840 / JUBILEE 1887

Reverse inscription [circumferential]: VICTORIA REG ET IMP

Diameter: 31.4mm, Weight: 13.27gms, die axis: 12

Notes:

An apparently identical medallion was reported along with this one, but in markedly worse condition [of weight 10.77gms] and is not further recorded.
