An incomplete cast copper-alloy one piece bow brooch of La Tène III/Nauheim Derivative type, dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 50 BC-50 AD. Only the pin is missing, the remainder of the brooch preserved intact. It posesses a sprung head made up of two coils, the truncated end of the spring/pin looping under these before truncating in an old break. The bow is flat in section and broadly triangular in plan, its borders decorated with incised lines which converge at its base. The foot is plain, its rear face flattened and curling back on itself to form the catchplate. Preserved in good condition with an even green patina, it measures 38.13mm in length, 8.03mm wide at the upper edge of the bow, 0.77mm thick at the midpoint of the bow. It weighs 2.03g.
A similar brooch is published by Mackreth (2011) see vol. II, p. 10, pl. 7, no. 4054.
