An incomplete Roman copper alloy bracelet dating to AD 320 to 450. The bracelet is formed of a strip of copper alloy rectangurar in cross section. It is deformed and worn on the surface. On one end it tapers from a width of 3.8 mm to 2.2 mm and turns at 90 degree into an old break. The other end turns at 45 degree into an old worn break.
The front of the bracelet is decorated with broad shallow alternating notches in rectangular shape. In the center of the front is an impressed dot. On the side edges there are impressed dots all along. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The bracelet has a brown patina all over.
The bracelet measures 52.6 mm in length, 3.8 mm in width, 2.8 mm in thickness and weights 3.61 g.
A bracelet with a similar decoration was excavated in Colchester and it is classified with her "Notched, toothed and crenellated" group of bracelets. Cf. Crummy 1983, p. 38, no. 1653. Other parallels are GLO-357444 and WILT-D7B5C2.
