An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval plain double loop buckle frame, dating to AD 1500 to 1650. The frame is corroded and distorted. It consists of a single loop, the top and the bottom of the strap bar and the inizial fragment of the other loop. All the rest is missing.
The complete D-shaped loop curves towards the remains of the narrowed strap bar. The loop is deformed with the central part flat and the ends bent downwards. The ends of the strap bar are bent back at 90 degree and survives for 7.1 mm and 3.6 mm. A lobed knop is moulded at each end of the strap bar. Most of the other loop is missing due to old breaks and survives only for 7.5 mm on one side.
The buckle is 24.6 mm in length, 36.0 mm in width and 1.9 mm in thickness.
Whitehead (2003, 52) dates double loop buckles with moulded knops either ends of the strap bar to AD 1500-1650. No. 301 is a similar example except for the pin.
