A copper alloy Medieval globular or spherical strap-end dating from about AD 1200 - 1500. The strap end is a sub-spherical knop with a flattened end and a projecting sub-rectangular sectioned shaft which splits into two plates, which have rounded ends with a corroded rivet hole through both plates. It is 16.3mm long, 11.5mm diameter and 5.2g.
Such objects are not readily paralleled in the literature, but a number have been recorded on this database, e.g. WMID-498871, WAW-414503, NLM-74B5E9, NLM-26AF51 and SF-264006.
