Copper alloy Langton Down brooch, this has tubular wings that wrap around the spring encompassing it within a cylinder, the spring is now missing. The bow is a flat sub-rectangular cross-section bar that is truncated just below the head resulting in the loss of most of its length, the front of the brooch may have been decorated with a series of vertical lines but any detail has been removed by corrosion. Date AD 25-60.
