A late medieval/ post-medieval copper- or lead-alloy finger-ring with an undecorated rectangular bezel. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section,being flat to the inside surface. The metal has badly worn and corroded, especially at the back of the hoop (5.7x1.5mm). The hoop thickens at the shoulders (c.2mm at the base) and expands in width at the top to measure 7.8x3.9mm. The rectangular bezel measures 15.6mm long, 7.8mm wide and 2.7mm thick.
The finger-ring measures 23.2mm in height and 23.3.mm in width, with an internal diameter of 19.5mm. It weighs 4.48g. The patina, where it survives, is a reddish-brown in colour, the metal beneath grey and pitted. The brown-coloured patina is reminiscent of that on lead or pewter objects.
