A lead alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date, circa (AD 1100-1600). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex. There is a central sub-circular perforation which is 11.7 mm in diameter. Both faces have been decorated with a repeating pattern of ribs forming a zig zag pattern. The surface of the spindle whorl is cream to grey in colour .

There are many spindle whorls recorded on the database, (WMID-16C0FC) was discovered in the Staffordshire Moorlands and (WMID-B1DE0D) near Walsall in the West Midlands. Spindle whorls are used for a long period of time and as such are very difficult to date precisely without other evidence (such as pottery). This form is often attributed to the medieval period.

The whorl measures 24.4 mm diameter, is 11.8 mm thick and weighs 23.3 grams.
