Lead weight. Cast trapezoid weight with a large oval sunken panel on one side; patinated. The mass may suggest this to have represented one [underweight] averdepois ounce. It was possibly formerly equipped with an insert supplying the deficit, though the form of this object is distinct from that of those early medieval weights with inserted objects, which are typically discoid. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1700.
