A complete lead alloy spindle whorl of uncertain but probable Roman or medieval date. The spindle whorl is small, circular in plan and with a plano-convex in section. The central perforation is square at the top and circular underneath, and is slight very slightly off-centre. There are scratches in the lead on the top of the object while the underside is smooth and polished.
