A gold Iron Age stater of the North Eastern region / Corieltavi, dating to the period c. 45 - c. 10 BC, Kite type. Obverse: Wreath and crescents, four spoked wheel in place of cloak. Reverse: Lunate horse left, with multiple ears, four armed spiral anti-clockwise below, diamond (kite) shape above containing three pellets. Similar to ABC, p. 93, no. 1761 and BMC (Hobbs), nos. 3181-3184, but illustrated examples show four pellets within the kite; cf. Van Arsdell 825-8.
