Silver coin. Scots long cross penny of Alexander III (1249-1286), issue of 1280 onwards. In very fine condition; the finder emphasises this was how the coin was discovered.

Obverse description: Bust left, sceptre before face; plain or Latin initial cross.

Obverse inscription: +ALEXANDER DEI GRA

Reverse description: Long cross, mullet or star of six points in each angle.

Reverse inscription: REX/SCO/TOR/VM+

Diameter: 20.3mm, Weight: 1.36gms, die axis: 9
