A Medieval or Post Medieval gold coin fragment dating from AD 1400 - 1700. Less than eigth of the coin survives. It is probably Spanish or Spanish Netherlands.

Reverse: Possible triple stranded cross with flaring arms

Carl Savage (PAS volunteer) suggests that the coins could be a gold souverain d'or of the Spanish Netherlands under Phillip IV (AD 1621 - 1665).

The coin fragment is 12.4mm long, 7.6mm wide and 0.6mm thick. 0.39g. The diameter could have been about 30mm.
