A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver sceat issued at Ribe, Denmark (675-750). Series X, Type 31, X120 (Abramson 2006: 15 and 74; North 1994: 65, ref: 117).
Obverse: Facing, radiate, Wodan head with chevron beard, cross pommée either side with one pellet above. Line border with beaded border.
Reverse: Monster in flight left, looking back, gaping jaws biting raised triple-forked tail, pellet below head. Prominent member and clawed feet below. Line border within beaded border.
Diameter: 12.0mm. Weight: 1.10g. DA=12:3.
