Silver finger ring fragment. Cast oval head and the narrower body of a snake, from a coiled snake ring. The head is of plano-convex section, though the narrower band was probably of oval or round section. A pair of elongated and diverging slashes on top of the head represents eyes or sensory pits, though now much smoothed by wear. Now bent to L shape. Suggested date: Roman, 43-410. In view of its age and material, this object is to be subjected to the Treasure process, ref. 2018 T430.
