Incomplete Roman crescent-type Aesica brooch. Broken rearward hook, spring missing. Both wings are decorated with an oblique line, and a vertical line at the outer edge. The bow has a vertical median rib and twin knops. The back-plate has a rivet for the missing separate applied crescent, splayed foot. Broken catch-plate on the reverse. The wingspan of the brooch is 21.5mm. Length 34mm. Mid 1st century.
